Sophie Johnson

Sophie studied Music at Bath Spa University specialising in flute performance and composition. During her studies she won two student composition competitions, both resulting in performances in Bath Abbey. One entry was chosen to be the processional music for the University’s graduation ceremonies in 2014. After graduating she qualified as a primary school teacher at the University of Leicester. Sophie has taught for five years and has had many roles, such as music coordinator and has experience of teaching children from a variety of backgrounds, including those with a range of special educational needs.

Sophie trained as a Music Therapist at the University of Roehampton from 2019 – 2021. Her placement experience included working at a college for young adults with learning disabilities, as well as working for NHS mental health centres within inpatient and community psychiatric settings. As well as flute, Sophie enjoys playing piano and singing in Music Therapy sessions. She regularly plays flute at services at HTB Queen’s Gate and enjoys seeing musicals on the West End.
