ABRSM has currently suspended F2F exams at Public Centres and unfortunately RMT is not currently able to run safely, within Covid 19 guidelines, as a Private Centre. The following links may be of interest to those wishing to sit an exam, and we are happy to liaise with RMT Associate Teachers should you require additional information as to the options available for your child.
When applying for Remotely Assessed Grades, please note that RMT does not have access to individual candidate numbers. If you have not sat an exam before, you will not have a candidate number. If you have previously sat an exam, your candidate number can be found on your mark sheet which was sent with your certificate.

The application process
- Teachers hand out entry forms to the pupils they feel are ready to take an exam.
- Parent signs/returns completed form with payment by the specified deadline to RMT.
- RMT submits the exam entry to ABRSM.
- RMT draws up the exam timetable and dates/times are sent directly to pupils.

These include a £5 admin charge.
The majority of pupils will require an accompanist for their exam pieces, and there is a space on the entry form which the teacher will fill in with the RMT Pianist’s fee. If you would prefer to provide your own accompanist please let us know.

During exam periods there is no parking available on site.
When to arrive
Please arrive 20 minutes before your exam time.
Practical results are usually issued between four and six weeks after the exam date. Mark sheets and certificates are sent to the Music Trust and these are posted directly to pupils.
