Nico works as a Music Therapist across London and Surrey. Originally from Switzerland, she studied music at the University of Southampton, focussing on jazz and pop singing. Shortly after she completed her Music Therapy training at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.  She likes to explore a variety of styles and instruments in her work and in her personal life, nurturing her love for jazz while leaning on her classical training on the violin.

Nico delivers music therapy in a variety of settings. In a Pupil Referral Unit she uses her expertise to help children explore and understand their emotions, and develop their creativity and sense of self, always maintaining a child-centred approach. Here she also plays a key role in staff and parent support.  In the community she delivers individual sessions to children and adults, focussing wellbeing, fine and gross motor movement, and communication.

Before beginning her career as a Music Therapist, Nico gained valuable experience working with children as a music teacher and a youth support worker. She uses her experience to guide her music therapy sessions, which are person-centred and flexible, putting the client’s needs and emotional states at the centre and helping explore their inner world through music.
