BandIt gives participants the chance to experience what it’s like to be in a band. Planned and delivered by a dedicated team who between them have a staggering amount of experience in teaching, recording and performance, we try to squeeze the best out of every single participant.
The aim of BandIt is to achieve something incredible. Participants may arrive as individuals but they leave feeling uplifted and supported, with increased confidence levels and the inspiration to continue on their musical path.

“My child has grown up with BandIt.  Musically he wouldn’t be where he is today without the encouragement & experience he’s had at Bandit over the years.”

“This experience was fantastic. The whole group was such a nourishing environment for my daughter.  By the end of the BandIt week she had made new friends and was playing and singing on stage. Not only that but the quality of ensemble playing and song-writing was excellent. The vibe of the whole group was fantastic – my daughter was thrilled to be a part of this!”

“It’s hard to sum up how important BandIt is to my child.  Musically it’s excellent; the standard of teaching, the supportive nature of the tutors and the quality of the end concert are always incredible – and this is really driving her forwards to look at further education options that will let her study music into university.”

How does BandIt work?

Participants are put into bands based on age, ability and experience. During the course, the bands:

  • learn cover tracks (we choose across the decades). Tracks are arranged for various levels and abilities.
  • write an original song as a band.
  • record their track in our pop-up studio with a professional sound engineer.  The recordings are then mastered and sent to parents via a WeTransfer link as well as going onto our BandIt Spotify page
  • take part in a visual recording performance critique session/live performance workshop feedback sessions.
  • perform in the BandIt Gig to a live audience complete with sound engineering and lighting.

Testimonials

“This was our child’s first BandIt course and he had the best week! The gig was our first & we were blown away with the incredible talent from every single participant. Truly inspiring; we will definitely be coming back again and again. All the tutors went above and beyond – you can tell by the confidence my child had after every day spent at camp.  The sheer amount of fun they must have had was shown at their end of week performance. I sincerely hope that other children have the opportunity to take part in this wonderful experience.”

“BandIt is by far the best music course my child has taken part in. The set-up is excellent and extremely well run. The tutoring is of the highest quality and the participants all have so much fun whilst producing amazing new music. We are always blown away by the performances at the end of the week. Best of all it has been the catalyst to the forming of a band which continues to create, perform and record music. They are having the time of their lives!”

“We are indescribably thrilled with our child’s experience at BandIt. The enthusiasm and commitment of all the tutors is palpable and as a direct result our child’s confidence has absolutely sky rocketed. He’s so excited about what he can do with his drumming now.  Thank you so very very much, you all did a superb job.  He’s already asked if he can do it again next year!”

“The progress the young people made across the week and the quality of the songs they composed was incredibly high.”

“BandIt is a space where young people can explore and express themselves musically without prejudice, judgement or fear of embarrassment.  Several years on, we are still amazed that the young people not only learn well-known songs, but also write and perform their own songs by the end of the week, and with such enthusiasm and confidence.”

“What a wonderful and truly inspiring afternoon; I was genuinely moved. The experience of hearing bands made up of young people, some who had not played together before the start of the week, yet composed original songs – words and lyrics – was something to behold”

“We have attended several other summer camp gigs, and without wanting to do any injustice to other groups, BandIt is streets ahead”
