Bandit

BandIt gives participants the chance to experience what it’s like to be in a band. Planned and delivered by a dedicated RMT team who between them have a staggering amount of experience in teaching, recording and performance, we aim to squeeze the best out of every single participant.

The aim of BandIt is to achieve something incredible. Participants arrive as individuals and within an hour or so we get them working with the tutors in groups that are so supportive and overwhelmingly positive that any doubts or hang-ups about ability or fitting in are forgotten. It’s simple; we are all there with the same aim – to play music together.

We put the participants in bands based on age, ability and experience. During the course, the bands:

  • learn two tracks (we choose across the decades). Tracks are arranged for various levels and abilities.
  • write an original song as a band.
  • record a track in our pop-up studio, with a professional sound engineer.
  • perform in the end of week gig in a professional venue to a live audience complete with sound engineering and lighting.

We’re open to ANY student with a minimum of ONE YEAR’S tuition who is in Y5-Y13. Participants with SEN are also very welcome. For more information email bethanycalder@richmondmusictrust.org.uk or call 020 8538 3866.
