PRE-INSTRUMENTAL FOUNDATION CLASSES FOR YEAR ONE CHILDREN
Have you heard about Music Makers?
Music Makers aims to build basic musical skills prior to or alongside learning to play an instrument. Classes are an introduction to playing an instrument and making music with others. They are also the basis of our instrumental teaching programme and provide children with a solid foundation in basic musicianship skills.
Why take part?
This is a foundation course which prepares children for learning an instrument. They are taught in small groups where they begin to acquire an understanding of basic music concepts, and develop early ensemble skills. These classes involve developing aural skills, singing accuracy, and a practical experience of pulse, rhythm and other musical concepts using pitched and unpitched instruments. The children have great fun learning to play together, develop self-confidence and an enthusiasm for performing.
