A Community Resource
RMT's music therapy service aims to contribute towards the wider understanding of the benefits of music therapy within the local area and provide information and advice to local organisations wishing to set up music therapy. We aim to provide a high quality music therapy service to the local community, which is accessible for all. We aim to work alongside and support carers, parents, teachers and health professionals.
Music Therapy Sessions with the Trust
We offer both individual and group music therapy sessions in our fully equipped music therapy facility in Twickenham. Sessions are usually held on a weekly basis and last for 30-45 minutes as appropriate. Our facility is easily accessible by public transport, and we have parking facilities and full access for wheelchair users. A waiting/observation area is also available.
Outreach Service
We offer a music therapy service to interested organisations on an outreach basis. This usually involves individual and/or group sessions on your premises. It is helpful if a piano is available, but we supply other instruments. Fees are to be negotiated with RMT.
Music Therapy Workshops and Presentations
We offer music therapy workshops to organisations such as schools, hospitals, residential homes, multidisciplinary teams and others. These workshops target parents, carers and professionals who work within the field of health and education and aim to inform and raise awareness of music therapy. They can be a good starting point for finding out how your clients can benefit from music therapy. The workshops are tailored to suit the group's needs and usually involve a mixture of experiential work, music therapy theory and case presentations. Case material may be illustrated by video and / or audio material. Fees are to be negotiated with RMT.
