Parents/guardians
and pupils are subject to the terms and conditions as laid down by
the Richmond Music Trust as detailed below, and agree to abide by
these terms and conditions. The Trustees of the Trust reserve the
right to alter the terms and conditions if necessary and to provide
due notice to parents of any change. In addition the Trust reserves
the right to change teaching personnel, venue, lesson times and pupil
groupings if necessary and to notify parents of changes where possible.
FEES FOR INSTRUMENTAL TUITION/ACTIVITY PASSPORT
Payment for lessons and/or membership of activities is required termly
in advance. The invoice must be settled within 14 days to ensure tuition/membership.
Failure to pay the invoice will automatically cancel the tuition/membership.
TIMETABLING OF LESSONS/ACTIVITIES SESSIONS
Richmond Music Trust provides 10 lessons/sessions per term, which
will normally take place during the school day. If a member of our
teaching staff is absent, every effort will be made to ensure that
the missed lesson is made up and in some circumstances, the lesson
may be made up the following term. The Trust is only liable for instrumental
lessons/activities missed as a result of the absence of a Trust teacher.
INSTRUMENTAL GROUPINGS
Beginners and those in the early stages of tuition will normally receive
a 30-minute group lesson (3+ pupils) or, on certain instruments, a
20-minute group lesson (2 pupils). Intermediate pupils and those receiving
tuition on certain instruments may be offered 30-minute group lessons
(2 pupils) and to meet the needs of advanced pupils, individual tuition
(1 pupil) may be necessary. The teachers reserve the right to group
pupils according to their abilities. It is likely that groupings will
change and it may become necessary to transfer a pupil from group
to individual or vice versa. The appropriate increase in tuition fees
(or refund) will be processed as soon as possible by the Trust Office.
PUPIL PROGRESS
Pupils receiving instrumental tuition will be issued with a practice
notebook and this may be used as a means of communication between
parent/guardian and the teacher. Alternatively, the teacher may be
contacted via the Trust Office. A written report is issued once during
the academic year. Pupils will be expected to undertake regular daily
practice. Pupils are entered for their grade examinations on the recommendations
of their teacher. The Trust reserves the right to discontinue tuition/activity
where a pupil's progress, effort, attendance or behaviour is unsatisfactory.
SUPPLY OF INSTRUMENTS AND MUSIC
Pupils receiving instrumental tuition will be require an instrument
to practice on. The Trust has a limited number of instruments available
for hire, although in most cases it will be necessary for parents/guardians
to make their own arrangements for obtaining an instrument. The teacher
will advise on the correct instrument and details of hire shops are
available from the Trust Office. It will also be necessary to purchase
music.
ASSISTANCE WITH FEES
The Music Trust gives sympathetic consideration where financial hardship
may prevent a child from receiving instrumental tuition or from taking
membership of other activities run by the Trust. Families in receipt
of Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance, Housing Benefit, Council
Tax Rebate or free school meals may be entitled to receive up to 70%
reduction of fees upon production of documentation proving entitlement
for the period tuition/entitlement is received. Updated documents
must be sent to the Trust office each term. The Trust reserves the
right to consult the Headteacher of the school the child attends about
any request for assistance with fees for confirmation of eligibility.
WITHDRAWAL
Parents/guardians are required to notify the Trust Office in writing
by half term break if their child wishes to withdraw from instrumental
tuition or cancel their membership of activities. If the required
notice is not given, the Trust reserves the right to charge half term's
fees in lieu of notice. |
