ABC Music

Richmond Youth Symphony Orchestra
Auditions 2009

Tuesday 14th July at Waldegrave School for Girls
Open auditions for all young musicians 12 - 19yrs from within the Borough and beyond.

Strings players (Grd 5+) wind, brass and percussion players (Grd 6+) are invited to audition for the orchestra. Please phone the Trust office for further details and to apply.

The orchestra rehearses each week, regularly performs and takes part in trips abroad (Rhineland, July 2009.)

The Big Racket!

Featuring all the Trust's Music Centre Ensembles and over 350 children involved in the primary school Wider Opportunities Programme, The Big Racket! is a series of concerts celebrating musical achievement.

For the first three days the focus is on strings, wind and brass followed by guitar, percussion and keyboard. Friday 10th July sees secondary school rock pop and jazz bands showing what they can do!

Entry is by ticket only, available for family and friends from the Trust office


Keyboard Ensemble

Available to players of grade 2 standard and above, this is an exciting opportunity for keyboard players to rehearse and perform together! A wide range of music is reheased and explored including pop and rock. This is a passport activity which costs £71.00 per term. Please phone 020 8538 3866 for further details.


Trombone Choir

Tuesdays 6.00-6.45pm
Waldegrave School for Girls
Twickenham

Available to trombone and tuba students grade 5 and above (or approved by teacher), this ensemble is geared towards pushing students to the next level in both individual and section playing. Music for the group offers fun and interesting melodies as well as challenges in technique and endurance, all of which will help students to grow in ability and confidence.
