STRINGS
All string instruments are available in smaller sizes.
VIOLIN - The violin is the smallest member of the string family. It is often the most popular instrument for tuition within the string family.
VIOLA - Looks similar to the violin and is played in the same way, but is slightly larger in size and produces a lower, more mellow tone.
CELLO - Much larger than the violin and viola in both size and sound. Produces a deep, rich tone.
DOUBLE BASS - Even bigger than the cello! The sounds and tone are also deeper.
GUITAR - Can be taught in a variety of styles. We offer acoustic and electric.
WOODWIND
FLUTE - Tone is high and sweet. Is a well-known and popular choice for tuition. |

CLARINET - Produces a smooth tone. Uses a single reed. Made of wood or moulded plastic.
OBOE - Distinctive, strong sound. Looks similar to the clarinet but produces a completely different tone. Uses a double reed.
BASSOON - Large instrument with a low, rich tone. Uses a double reed
SAXOPHONE - Produces a strong mellow tone. Made of brass but in woodwind category as it uses a single reed.
RECORDER - A very popular choice, particularly at primary level. Produces a high sound. Is light and affordable.
BRASS
TRUMPET - Loud and clear tone. Hard bright sound. Distinctive.
CORNET - Very similar to the trumpet but has a softer, sweeter sound. |

HORN - Velvety tone. Medium pitched range of notes. Circular shaped with valves in the centre.
TROMBONE - Famous for its "slide" which produces the different notes.
TUBA - Large instrument which produces low notes with a rich tone.
EUPHONIUM - Small version of the tuba, easier to manage.
PERCUSSION
DRUMS - Taught as drum kit or snare.
GLOCKENSPIEL -A series of graduated metal bars played with two hammers.
PIANO - Versatile and consistently popular.
KEYBOARD - Contains a wide range of built in rhythms and sounds.
