Curriculum Director
The Trust's Curriculum Director, Sheila Johnson, is available to give support at KS1 and KS2.
CURRICULUM SUPPORT
Schools may request support in the following areas: - Advice on all aspects of music in the curriculum
- Help with instrumental groups
Please contact Sheila for details of the Instrumental Festival
- Support for singing activities, including school choirs
The Singing Festival is now in its eleventh year and has proved to be highly successful. The event aims to encourage and develop singing in borough schools and promotes good practice in singing teaching
- Advice on developing the school music policy and schemes of work
- Advice on the delivery of the National Curriculum
- Staff INSET
Either during the day or in place of a staff meeting Please note that the aim of any practical input is to improve and enhance delivery of the music curriculum.
In conjunction with LBRUT, Richmond Music Trust offers Primary School Music Co-ordinators the opportunity to attend termly Subject Panel Meetings, where various aspects of the music curriculum are discussed. On occasion guest speakers contribute to the meetings. Suggested topics for discussion are always welcome. To attend, please contact Tina Cruise at the Education Department.
MUSIC UPDATE
Schools also receive a termly newsletter from the Trust, "Music Update", which contains details of all activities and initiatives.
