Funding for talented young musicians of school age is now available from the Mandy Lee Fund, set up in memory of the wife of an RMT teacher who very suddenly and sadly passed away in 2014.
Initial funding was received from the International Bar Association. Each year the fund recognises a small number of young musicians who demonstrate unusual musical talent and/or potential. The fund helps cover tuition fees, ensemble membership and musical courses, trips and tours.
Each year up to 20% of the fund is available for allocation, to be used for the following:
• 70% remission of tuition fees for one year
• Full remission of Activities Passport (ensemble membership) for one year
• To fund access to courses, trip and tours.
Funding may be extended beyond one year subject to funding availability and need.
The fund is now operated in accordance with the Mandy Lee Fund deed. The Trustees of the fund meet when necessary to discuss applications and award funding.
